How to Choose the Right Fire Rescue Saw for the Job by FlashoverTV

Firefighting Articles from Desert Diamond Industries

Chief Rob Wylie of Cottleville Fire Protection District in Cottleville, Missouri has a good video at FireRescue1‘s FlashoverTV on choosing the right fire rescue saw for every situation.  The video features five kinds of saws, including the one that’s nearest to our hearts, the rotary power saw.

Wylie makes a good point in this video about abrasive blades, too – that they can shatter if you press down on them too hard during cuts. Contrast that to the Fire Rescue Safety Blade. It’ll never break or shatter because it’s made of solid steel (up to 14″). You also don’t have to match the Fire Rescue Safety Blade to what you’re cutting, like abrasive blades, because it cuts, well, almost everything.
