IRONSandLADDERS.com gave us a pretty good forcible entry training video yesterday, but we don’t think they gave power saws enough love. That’s why, in honor of the start of Hands-on Training at Firehouse Expo 2013 today, we’re posting this video on how to attack the hinges of a metal door.
Doors like these, which are too tough and too tight for almost any other tool on the truck, are where circular saws and diamond blades really come into their own. When a structure has no other entrances besides these fortress-like doors, this technique can be a real lifesaver.
Thanks to Brandon Erickson at Treasure Valley Fools and Nampa, ID Fire Department.
We’ll be in Booth 943 at Firehouse Expo 2013 in Baltimore, MD from Thursday to Saturday this week! Read our press release for details.
